Laura Ferré González

Coordinator

My name is Laura. I’m from Valencia, Spain and I’m 28 years old.

When I was a child, I wanted to be a veterinarian, but Alzheimer's disease came to me with the diagnosis of my grandmother, and that was when I decided to study Pharmacy at the University of Valencia.

While I was working in a pharmacy office, I decided to do a Master’s degree in biomedical research, which allowed me to do an extracurricular internship at the University and Polytechnic Hospital La Fe (Valencia, Spain) in the Alzheimer's Disease Research Group (GINEA). Currently, I have been at GINEA for almost 3 years, I am working on my PhD thesis which focuses on the study of the influence of gender on Alzheimer's disease; and since November 2023 I am the coordinator of the European PREDICTOM Project, which is based on an international cross-sectoral initiative to bring dementia diagnosis closer to citizens through a customisable cognitive and biomarker screening platform.
